Music
Welcome to the music section of our website. I have played music off and on across my lifetime, with a greater emphasis on “off”. Life gets in the way, work, children and other obligations often push the fun stuff to the back burner. I learned to play the guitar when I was twelve or so, played in a high school garage rock band and played for a couple of years after that. Then a came a thirty-year break. I have played off and on for the last twenty or so years. Three of our four children are musically inclined and play as well.
In 2011, we put together a backyard concert at our old house here in town. We ran it for three years on Labor Day weekend in 2011, 2012 and 2013. We live in the Monadnock region of NH and dubbed the concert “Monadstock”. The concert featured local amateur musicians and food from Fedder’s Famous Smokehouse. It was a big hit; we drew between 70 and 90 people each year. In 2014 I got pressured into a second full time job… goodbye Monadstock. Now retired, in 2023 we revived Monadstock and plan to continue the tradition for years to come.
Starting in 2024, our friend and fellow musician Mike Dailey took photographs of the concert. We are going to post galleries here. We have some videos from the original three concerts and are hoping to put up a YouTube channel for them and future concert videos. When we do, we will
put up a pointer to it.
